Meet the Pastor

  Meet the Pastor
Hi,
My name is Nick Haasch. The Lord has given me the tremendous privilege of serving as Pastor here at Trinity Lutheran Church.

I have always loved God's Word. I was blessed to attend a Christian gradeschool in a small town called Lake Mills, just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. In 2000 I started out my freshmen year at Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. It was here that I was encouraged to consider Martin Luther College. After graduating in 2004, I enrolled in the Pastor track program at Martin Luther College. At the college in New Ulm, Minnesota, my official training as a Pastor began. I studied Greek and Hebrew and basic doctrine classes. I was blessed to have such a wonderful education, to have wonderful friends and a wonderful experience. It was also at MLC that I met my future wife, Leah.

Following our graduation in 2008, I continued my studies at the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. This would include further studies in Biblical Hebrew and Greek, doctrine courses, as well as classes on preaching, teaching and counseling. During this time, my wife spent a year serving as an English teacher in China. We were engaged just before I started my second year at the Seminary. We were married on July 17, 2010. A few weeks later, we found ourselves in Covington, Georgia, where I served for a year as a pastor-in-training as part of my education.

I graduated from the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2012 and recieved my first call to serve here in South Dakota. On March 19th, the Lord blessed my wife and I yet again, with our first child, Jonah, our son. The Lord blessed  my family again with our second son, Peter, on October 17, 2015. On November 2nd, 2017, my wife and I were blessed with yet another healthy, boy, Nathan.

When not preaching or teaching or visiting members or neighbors, you can find me enjoying a good book at the library, taking my family for a walk around town, or playing with the kids and the dog outside.

I look forward to serving the members of Trinity Lutheran as well as the greater community of Sturgis.
God bless.
